Sisterhood

Dictionary.com defines sisterhood as an organization of women with a common interest, as for social, charitable, business, or political purposes.
Sure, that is an accurate description of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity, but for those of us who live it, sisterhood means so much more.
Sisterhood is throngs of patrons (and Facebook fans) of your new business venture.
Sisterhood is a month’s worth of fresh cooked meals after the birth of your ‘potential new member.’
Sisterhood is taking your kids for the day so you can care for a loved one who is ill.
I’m sure you have a few anecdotes of your own…
Sisterhood in Pi Beta Phi was never the weekly meetings or required philanthropic activities.  Sisterhood was the friendships and lifelong connections made through the involvement in such events…
…AND IT STILL IS.
Pi Beta Phi Fraternity has much to give, long after your college days have ended.
The McKinney Area Alumnae Group is here for you to connect and grow with your sisters.  Come join us for a fun filled evening.  Who knows what new definitions you’ll create!

Convention 2011

This summer, I had the opportunity to attend Pi Beta Phi®’s 69th Biennial Convention.  Being in Orlando, the home of Walt Disney World, the whole trip was somewhat magical.  In fact, the theme for convention was “The Magic of Sisterhood.”
At various points each day, participants were asked to share their “Magical Moments,” experiences in their lives that reflected what it means to be a sister.  Some stories brought humor; others touching sentiments, but all reminded those present that being a sister in Pi Beta Phi is truly something magical.
Convention 2013 is set for June 28 – July 1 in San Diego, CA!

Pictures with Santa

Pictures with Santa was a success, amid all the bustle and holiday stress.  Children arrived with letters in hand, ready to meet the big guy so grand.  Dressed to impress, kids dressed to the nines, as were the furry ones, the babies canine.  The goodies were yummy and oh so sweet; cookies and candies, what a treat.  The Angels of Pi Phi wish you holiday cheer.  Merry Christmas and we'll see you next year!

Pictures with Santa

The "Pictures with Santa" fundraiser is back!  Please encourage friends and family to attend, the Santa is fantastic and it definitely beats the mall.  We will also be having a bake sale at the event so bring some cash and your sweet tooth.

We would love to get some additional help at the fundraiser. We have only a few volunteers right now, so if you are able to help for a couple of hours (Dec. 5th), please email Kathy Waffen.  In addition, if you are interested in baking items for the bake sale, please email Karen Sood.

Fatigued Retreat

A great time was had by all at our first event of the season.  Members gathered to discuss the upcoming year while enjoying a relaxing meal and old-fashioned slumber party.  Up next for the group is the annual book drive on October 20th.  Please join us for friendship and philanthropy as we support our local elementary schools.
